Greetings :) 你好
My name is Yue Zhao (赵玥 in simplified Chinese). I am a Ph.D. student at the Department of Science and Technology Studies at Cornell University (starting fall 2020).
I am interested in the history of "algorithmic faces": why and how they are quantified and modulated, and the social and cultural values embedded in different facial quantification techniques.
My general research interests:
History of computing&AI; data epistemologies; health and the body; visual representations; algorithmic culture; the self; STS in China; media archaeology; material culture
In my spare time, I enjoy painting, jazz, and sci-fi movies. I also take pictures.
